We hosted our 4 dearest friends for the inaugural Balloons over Bagan Safari For a week, we flew all over remote parts of Burma, landing is places where few people are exposed to westerners, let alone a huge balloon full of us falling out of the sky and landing in their rice fields. Laughing children, hysterical pigs, curious dogs and grinning toothless grandmas greeted us wherever we landed. There is nothing like flying silently at a low level over the verdant landscape and architectural wonders that was at one time, one of the most prosperous places on the planet. Development in Burma has virtually stood still for many decades and that, for me, makes it wonderful, as there are few places in the world where one can truly turn back the clock. Brett and Omar hosted us morning noon and night, and from 5 am had us on the go doing amazing sites, eating incredible food, which they cooked themselves. The week was AMAZING, 5 star, and exotic to the tenth degree. I am a designer of resorts world-wide, a professional traveller if you will, I travel some 300 days a year for the past 25 years. I love adventure and new places and unique experiences and have been to some 90 countries. The balloon safari we shared with the wonderful family of Balloons over Bagan ranks as my #1 favourite trip I have ever taken, anywhere. We are slated to be the first group (of many I would think) of Brett's balloon safari across Bhutan, a place I love. So Brett you have much to live up to mate, to outdo what we loved so much about the Burma trip. I wholeheartedly recommend to any adventurer and lover of luxury to travel with Brett and family.
